Our Philosophy

A Letter From Our Founder

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you about some exciting and positive developments at The Recovery Academy! Over the years, The Recovery Academy has played a crucial role in transforming the lives of young men on their recovery path. Recognizing a growing demand for enhanced mental health support, we are expanding and refining our approach to better assist those with more intricate needs.

I founded The Recovery Academy with the vision of offering men the kind of recovery program I always envisioned. While emphasizing the importance of enjoyment in the recovery process, I also understand the critical role that structure plays. At The Recovery Academy, our goal is to foster trust through consistent routines and create a supportive environment where accountability for oneself and others is paramount. This fundamental philosophy remains unchanged.

I am excited to introduce you to The Recovery Academy’s Transitional Living program and Residential Mental Health program, which provide vital support for young men and women facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders.

At The Recovery Academy, we understand the unique needs of those navigating complex issues. Our Transitional Living program offers a structured environment designed to assist young men in transitioning from intensive treatment to independent living. Through personalized care plans and therapeutic interventions, we aim to empower individuals to manage their mental health effectively while addressing any co-occurring substance use disorders. Our Transitional Living program treats each resident individually. We meet with each person to create a unique recovery plan and set attainable goals for the future. Some of our clients decide to enroll in school and others are ready to look for employment. We work with every client to help them define success in their lives and the necessary steps to get there. We encourage recovery meetings, such as 12-Step meetings or SMART Recovery. The degree of need varies from client to client. Our goal is to help each client who comes through our doors grow into a confident man who is free from chemical dependency and able to support themselves.

Additionally, our Residential Mental Health Treatment program (IRTS) provides a supportive and nurturing environment for young men and women requiring more intensive therapeutic intervention. Here, they receive round-the-clock care from a dedicated team of professionals trained in mental health support and substance use disorder treatment. Through cutting-edge therapeutic approaches and personalized treatment plans, we ensure young adults uncover their greatest potential. We provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere where residents feel valued and understood, facilitating a therapy that promotes growth, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope.

We are committed to providing compassionate and effective support to clients and their families during these critical times of recovery and growth.  As a very “hands on” owner, I take a tremendous amount of pride in the work we do at The Recovery Academy. When a person enters our program, they become a part of our family, one that walks with them as they trudge the roads of early recovery to a life of freedom and happiness.

Sincerely,
